Active Care is a rotation site for the Open Door Community Health Center's Nurse Practitioner Residency Program. Additionally, we are educational providers for both the St. Joseph/ODCHC Family Medicine Physician Residency and the ODCHC continuing medical education program (MD, DO, NP, PA).
At Active Care, you work with doctors practicing at the top of their scope. Our "Curriculum Based" program has you hands-on from Day 1, applying Clinical Reasoning In Spine Pain (CRISP) protocols for high level diagnosis, biopsychosocial communication and evidence-based use of manual therapy and rehab exercise.
You’ll have the opportunity to shadow our medical and osteopathic colleagues in family medicine, sports medicine, integrative care, pain medicine and orthopedic surgery (additional opportunities to be announced).
Already graduated? Our POSTceptor program is your bridge to licensure. Join the team and earn a salary while you build experience and study for boards.
Complete the clinical requirements of your masters degree with us and our educational partners in the Sports Medicine/Athletic Training Departments at Humboldt State University (NCAA Div II) and College of the Redwoods (JUCO).
Our Curriculum Based program is perfect for the pre-medical, pre-DC, pre-PT, or pre-ATC student or the future personal trainer interested in working with difficult populations. You'll learn the basics of diagnosis, apply hands on manual therapies and teach rehabilitation strategies for both acute and chronic musculoskeletal pain patients.
